Happy Tuesday,
This week was a fun first, I delivered two keynotes on the same day. Thanks to IRT Living, who hosted me in-person at their annual leadership conference in Nashville, and ONE OK, Inc, who I had the pleasure of joining for a virtual talk a few hours later. Both organizations chose “Elevate” as their annual theme.
A Star-Studded Month on the Elevate Podcast
This month on the Elevate Podcast, I was able to cross a few of my aspirational interviews off the list and it’s led to a record number of downloads.
First, fashion empire founder Kendra Scott joined Elevate to talk about her entrepreneurial journey, overcoming imposter syndrome and so much more. Listen Now
Next Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines and the 2023 CEO of the Year joined me to talk about his remarkable leadership career at Delta, navigating multiple crises and creating the world’s most awarded airline. Listen Now
NYT bestselling author Cal Newport returned to talk about his latest book, Slow Productivity, which explores the possibility of achievement without burnout. Cal is one of the smartest people I know and shares ideas for how companies and leaders can shift from busywork into something more productive and less stressful. Listen Now
Subscribe to Elevate on your favorite podcast platform to hear these and many more episodes. And if you are a long time listener, I would really appreciate if you could leave a rating or review.
Help Me Pick The Title of My Next Book
As I shared last month, I’m excited to finally launch my book on ending the two weeks’ notice paradigm of employee departures. The book is done, but I have not yet settled on a title and want your help. Vote for a title in my poll on LinkedIn, and if you weigh in on the subtitle in the comments, I will invite you to a private launch event.
My Next Course
Feedback is critical in organizations and is the key to improvement. However, the more I talk with companies, the more I find that there is very little training on how to give and receive feedback in a productive, action oriented way. This is going to be the topic of my next course—a deep dive to help employees give and receive feedback, something I think should be a requirement of any leadership training. This on-demand course, which builds on the popular webinar I hosted last year, will include strategies for giving and taking feedback, as well as a detailed exercise you can do with your leadership team or peer group to practice feedback in a roleplaying environment for common feedback situations.
This course will be available later this year and I’ll be offering a group discount for teams. If you’re interested in learning more about group discounts when the course launches, click this link--no other action is needed.
